How does it work?
Dermal fillers are used for facial aesthetic treatments and are injected into the skin. They are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalize the skin. Dermal fillers are based on Hyaluronic acid which is substance that naturally exists in your body.
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms. Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers revitalize and add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural softer look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.
Dermal filler injections provide an easy way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 6 to 9 months. Dermal filler injections can give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. As your face changes over time, dermal fillers allow you to control you looks subtly as you age.
Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin.

Step 1 – lips assessment & mapping
We start by “mapping” your lips and assess where and how much of the filler needs to go in. Photographs may be taken of the areas to be treated before the treatment starts.
Step 2 – Cleansing & anaesthetizing
The injection sites will be cleansed with an antibacterial agent. Most, but not all fillers will have
anaesthetizing properties incorporated. But to make the procedure less painful we will apply a numbing cream beforehand and let it work in. While not painless, the injections are usually easily tolerated.
Step 3 – The injection
Injection usually takes only a few moments per site. The process of injecting, massaging, and evaluating the result is performed, and additional filler added as needed.
Depending on the number of areas to be treated, the whole process may be as short as 15 minutes.
Step 4 – Clean up & recovery
Once the results are deemed satisfactory, we will treat the lips with some Vaseline which will keep the skin soft and flexible, helping with the now fuller skin underneath. Although the area may feel a bit tender for a day or two, it is usually not painful enough to require any medication. Full recovery, no more swelling, after two weeks. Bear in mind all lips are different and not every treatment (filler or amount used) will result in the same amount of swelling and or time required for the swelling to fully reduce.

The amount of filler you get is ultimately up to you, and you can tell us what you want and we will create a treatment plan that is right for you. It really comes down to whether you want a plumper pout or just add some subtle volume.
Everybody is different and has different tolerances but yes the injections may cause some slight discomfort during the procedure, but it’s nothing to worry too much about. You’ll get numbing cream put on your lips beforehand, and the actual fillers have lidocaine in them to make it more comfortable.
A lip filler treatment can be done once with one or multiple syringes or gradually over a few sessions until you achieve your desired look. Most people touch up every six months to a year, but it really comes down to how much you’re willing to spend and what kind of look you’re going for.
You can get them wherever you want! You can do one lip, two, a little here, a little there… you can plump up wherever you and we will decide with you what will work and look best based on your desired look and your facial features. Our experience and industry feedback is often: less is more
After the swelling goes down, your lips shouldn’t feel any different. Your lips will feel like your lips, just plumper!
Lip fillers aren’t permanent and dissolve naturally over time.
Depending on which filler you choose, the results of the injections can last from six months to over a year. We will help you decide which product is best for the results you’re looking for.
It’s possible that some slight bruising will happen afterwards (which makes sense), but it’s nothing a little lipstick can’t hide. Try to refrain from touching your lips, limit your alcohol intake. We advise not to use lipstick for the first 24 hours.
It’s best to avoid exercising for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Any increased blood flow to your face will only make the swelling worse, so let your lips do their thing for a little while before hitting the gym.
